AUBURN – Central Maine Community College Corporate and Community Services will offer the “Let’s Talk Business” series for small business owners on Thursdays, June 11 through 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The series of three workshops are $19 each or $49 for all three. Lunch is included. The series is sponsored by Mechanic Savings Bank.
The first of the three workshops, “Preserving Cash,” will be held June 11. This workshop will provide participants with an overview of the fundamentals of cash management including understanding their company’s financial statements, managing accounts receivable and inventory, and strategies for increasing cash flow.
The second workshop, “Smart Debt,” will be held June 18 and will cover the importance of setting up a business emergency fund, the steps to getting a business out of debt, and how to establish and structure funds for operating cash and capital expenditures.
The final workshop in the series, “Making Your Business Stand out in a Crowd,” will be held June 25. It will help small business owners decide how to best use their marketing dollars and explore various marketing strategies and options for low-cost and no-cost marketing.
The workshops will be facilitated by Van Perry. Perry is vice president and a commercial lender for Mechanics Savings Bank, and has been in the commercial lending field for more than 20 years.
