Famed author of medical thrillers will be at library
RUMFORD – On Saturday, June 13, the Rumford library will welcome best-selling author Tess Gerritsen at 1 p.m. In 1996, Gerritsen’s novel “Harvest” catapulted her to the New York Times best-seller list, a position she maintained with subsequent novels.
Best known for her medical thrillers, Gerritsen has received numerous literary prizes and acclaim. No stranger to medicine, she was a practicing physician before becoming a full-time writer.
Among the Top 5 best-sellers in the United States and abroad, Gerritsen’s work has been translated into 33 languages, with 20 million copies sold throughout the world. Gritty and riveting, Gerritsen’s novels have been widely praised for their breathless pace and polished prose. Her newest book is “The Keepsake.”
Gerritsen, who now resides in Maine, will talk about the subject matter that has inspired her stories and will take questions from the audience. Afterwards, she will sign copies of her books at a reception put on by Friends of the Rumford Library.
