FARMINGTON – The Farmington Historical Society will host “Ould Colony Artisans” at a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, June 8, at the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, Academy Street.

The meeting is open to the public and will begin with a potluck dinner followed by a short business meeting, then the “Ould Colony Artisans” presentation.

Robert and Judi Leonard of Titcomb Hill Road are the proprietors of Ould Colony Artisans. They have been involved as re-enactors of the Revolutionary War for 34 years.

They started a sign business in the style of an 18th-century company, creating and selling their handmade, painted signs to historic societies, private commissions and museum shops throughout New England.

They have since expanded their offerings to include decorative signage for homes and businesses, sea chests, tavern signs, captain’s desks and coats of arms. They will present a program explaining how the signs are created, preserving the historic period of their origination.

Society membership is open to all interested in preserving the history of the area. Membership is $20 a year. If interested in joining, contact Cindy Stevens, secretary, at 778-4301.
