Mowing right along
Issue: After Public Works expressed an interest to get out of the mowing business, selectmen agreed to put the job out to bid.
The scoop: They got bids ranging from $7,850 to $13,000.
Up next: A contract specifying details like grass height will be drawn up before selectmen pick one.
Assorted Public Works
Issue: The grader needs new brakes. Selectmen approved $1,700 and asked for a tally on other needed repairs.
Issue: Several culverts around town need repair. Selectmen approved $6,320 for material.
Issue: Selectmen approved $2,400 to rent an extendible boom bush hog for roadside brush cutting.
Temporary changes
Issue: To accommodate floor stripping and waxing at the town office on Friday, June 12, the office will close an hour earlier at noon.
Issue: To close out the fiscal year, the town office will be closed Tuesday, June 30. On Monday, June 29, it’ll stay open until 6 p.m. instead of the usual 4:30.
School budget
Issue: Voting on the school budget will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the town office.
