LEWISTON – Bernice Robbins, 78, of Mechanic Falls, died Friday, June 5, at d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born on Jan. 13, 1931, in Saint Agathe, one of 16 children to Ernest and Alma (St. Amand) Poissonnier. She was raised on a farm, and helped tend to the animals and chores. She met Elmer Lausier of Grand Isle, whom she later married, and together they raised six children.

Later in life, she married Robert Robbins of Oxford who died in 1999.

Mrs. Robbins worked many years for the Hill Mill and Bates Mill until her retirement.

She enjoyed gardening, playing beano and crocheting blankets for her children and other family members.

She was a former member of Saint Mary’s Church. She volunteered her time baking pies and pastries at the American Legion Beano Hall in Oxford and was always there to help. She will be remembered for her great cooking and other wonderful gifts.
