BRUNSWICK – Marie Florence Blanchette, 82, of Mallet Drive, Topsham, died Friday, June 5, at Mid Coast Hospital.
She was born in Brunswick on Sept. 20, 1926, a daughter of Alpha and Melvina Poulin. She attended St. John’s School.
She married Freeland A. Blanchette on July 20, 1946, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Brunswick.
She devoted her life to being a homemaker for her husband and children. She found great joy cooking for and spending time with family and friends.
She enjoyed working outdoors in her yard and gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and music.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Blanchette of Topsham; a son, Danny and his wife, Sandra Blanchette, of Lisbon; two sisters, Irene Doyan and Marie Poitras, of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Cynthia Harris of Augusta, Tonia Blanchette of Lisbon Falls, and Tina Blanchette of Lisbon; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, who died May 23, 2000; a sister, Della Devine; and three brothers, Joseph, Peter and Armand Poulin.
