NORRIDGEWOCK (AP) – Law enforcement officials say an 8-year-old boy was taken into custody in Norridgewock after shooting three students and a school bus driver with a BB gun.

Police say no one was seriously hurt.

Somerset County Sheriff’s Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi says arrangements were being coordinated by social workers to have the boy evaluated.

The Morning Sentinel newspaper says there were 31 children on the bus that was headed to Mill Stream Elementary school in Norridgewock on Friday morning.

Gottardi says students aged between 5 and 11 were ht in the head and leg areas by plastic pellets. The driver was hit in the head.

Another student wrestled the gun away from the boy.
