West Paris – Daniel Alphonso Brown, 92, husband of Isabel (Noyes) Brown, died June 5 at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Bethel on Nov. 18, 1916, the son of Alphonso A. Brown and Marjorie (Verrill) Brown, was educated in local schools and graduated from Woodstock High School, class of 1935, where he was active playing baseball. After graduation he went into the U.S. Army and served with the occupational troops in Italy. Daniel was a very active member of the Woodstock Seventh day Adventist Church and had served as head Deacon for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Isabel, of West Paris; two sons, Danny A. Brown and his wife, Emily, of Angwin, Calif., and Ervin R. Brown and his fiancée, Mary-Beth Curran, of Rumford Center; two daughters, Aldis M. Locklin and her husband, Thomas, of Pepperell, Mass., and Leanna Wisnosky and her husband, William, of West Paris; one brother, Donald Brown and his wife, Naomi, of Florida; three sisters, Shirley Washburn of Kittery Point, Beatrice Harlow of South Paris and Charlotte Jacobson of Oxford; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one infant son; and one sister, Pauline Kennison.
