LEWISTON – A service of remembrance and thanksgiving honoring the life of Robert J.Dodge was celebrated by Father Jacob C. Fles Thursday at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. During the service words of remembrance were shared by David Ellis. The song, “You Raised Me Up” was sung by Shawna Haley and accompanied by her mother, Kathy Haley on the piano. The prayer leader was John Dodge, and prayer acolytes were Ms. Dale W. Morgan and Michelle Bowman. A delegation of employees from Central Maine Power as well as the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1837 were also in attendance. Before departing for East Wales Cemetery in Wales, all at the service were invited to greet the Dodge family with their own personal condolence. The funeral procession included five Central Maine Power trucks which was in tribute to Bob’s more than 30 years of service to the company as a line man first class that lead Bob’s hearse to his place of burial. After graveside committal prayers by Father Fles, the U.S. Air Force Honor Detail played “taps” and presented our country’s flag to Bob’s wife, Debra for services rendered by her husband to his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Pallbearers were all fellow cyclists and close friends of Bob’s, Jackie Bailey, Ray Bilodeau, Mike Blais, Bob Dibello, Janet Healey and Dennis Tuttle. At the conclusion of the services at the cemetery all were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Ramada Inn n Lewiston.
