SARASOTA, Fla. – Anita P. Marquis died May 21 in Sarasota, Fla.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1928, in Lewiston, a daughter of Arthur and Bette (Poulin) Pomerleau.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Arrowhart Electrical Components and RCA in Lewiston. She was a member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and a communicant of Prince of Peace and St. Thomas More Parish in Sarasota, Fla. She enjoyed dancing, entertainment, going to the beach and bird watching.

She is survived by her husband, Maurice (Moe) Marquis, former Lewiston Public Works foreman, whom she married on July 29, 1989; a daughter, Susan Sengstock of Bethlehem, Ga., and a grandson, Kyle Wilson; stepchildren, Marcel and Bonnie Marquis, Diand and David Greene and Debbie Marquis and her companion, Donald Moulton; 10 stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Luc and Pauline Pomerleau of Lewiston and Conrad and Ruby Pomerleau of Inverness, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
