Who Is the American Cancer Society?
We save lives.
We are the largest source of not-for-profit cancer research funds in the world, investing $130 million each year nationally in innovative research.
Since 1946, we have invested more than $3.1 billion in research.
Our researcher helped increase the overall five year survival rate from 25% in the 1940’s to nearly 66% today.
Over the past 30 years, our researchers not only dramatically increased the cure rate for most childhood cancers to more than 80%, but established the link between cancer and smoking.
Forty-two American Cancer Society-funded researchers have gone on to win the Nobel Prize.
Cancer Research, no matter where it is carried out, benefits us all, wherever we live.
We are powered by volunteers.
