RUMFORD – Nila L. Moore, 73, of Swett Avenue died unexpectedly June 17, at the Rumford Hospital.

She was born in Dixfield, the daughter of Kennett and Belva Collins on June 3, 1936. She grew up in Dixfield and graduated from Dixfield High School. She was employed by the Diamond Match Co. in Dixfield. She was then employed by John Shea Insurance and then by Western Maine Associates of Rumford. She attended St. Theresa Church in Mexico and The Holy Savior Church in Rumford. She was also very actively involved with the Mexico Mother’s Club. She married Robert C. Moore on May 28, 1955.

She enjoyed being with her children, traveling, gardening, watching her grandchildren playing baseball, softball and skiing. She very much enjoyed being with and taking care of her great-grandchildren. She especially looked forward to heading south to the Carolinas to avoid the Maine winters.

She is survived by her husband of Mexico; daughter, Loreen Y. Moore of West Paris; son, Dennis C. Moore and wife, Lisa, of Rumford; sister, Rowena Collins Desjardin of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Erica L. Robin and her husband, Brandon, of Rumford, Corey S. Moore and Shelby N. Moore of Rumford; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Luce of West Paris, Kylie and Konnor Robin of Rumford.

She was predeceased by her parents.
