Park Avenue School in Auburn hosted Young Authors’ Day on May 1 to recognize, honor and celebrate the literacy achievements of students. The staff planned a day-long event filled with workshops that involved literacy activities, such as a writer’s workshop, drama, author share circle, illustrating, poetry, and technology. The highlight of day was the experience that students had with published authors. They spent the day with the students, sharing their talents, their books and their writing journey. This year’s featured Maine authors pictured from left are Melissa Sweet, Sarah L. Thomson, Lisa Jahn-Clough and Lea Wait.
