- Patty Loveless, one of the most popular female singers in the new traditionalist movement, courtesy of her mix of honky-tonk, country/rock and ballads, will perform Saturday, July 4, at L.L. Bean’s Discovery Park in Freeport. She has charted more than 40 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including five No. 1s. She has also recorded 14 albums, four of which have been certified platinum and two gold. She was nominated for two Grammy Awards this year: "Sleepless Nights" for Best Country Album and "House of Cash" with George Strait for Best Country Collaboration With Vocals. Loveless will perform with special guest Marcia Ramirez. The outdoor performance, part of Bean’s Summer Concert Series, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Concertgoers are urged to bring lawn chairs.
