DIXFIELD – The Countryfolk Music Theatre will host a Christmas in July family music day Sunday, July 5, and is gathering cans of food for the local food bank.
The event from noon to 6 p.m. will feature Christmas songs as well as country favorites with close to 40 volunteer musicians, auction items, a musical chairs game and a visit from Santa Claus.
“We have the Countryfolk donation boxes ready now, so folks may drop off any canned food any day of the week at the Countryfolk Music Theatre in East Dixfield, or call 645-7531 for more information,” said Bisbee. Volunteers will deliver the food to the local food bank following the Christmas in July event.
Countryfolk hosts Maine singers and musicians every Sunday throughout the summer and awards youth music scholarships. Other planned events include the Banjos to Bagpipes, Mountain Man Rendezvous event July 23, 24, 25 and 26; and a Dick Curless Day look-a-ike contest on Sept. 6.
