DURHAM — Voting by referendum ballot on the Regional School Unit 5 operating budget will take place in Durham, Freeport and Pownal on Thursday, June 25.
Voting in Durham will be at the elementary school between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. The ballot will contain a single yes or no question, “Do you favor approving the Regional School Unit No. 5 budget that was accepted at the latest regional school unit budget meeting?”
No figures will be listed on the ballot. However, a copy of the 11 individual budget lines totaling $22.78 million has been posted with the election notice in each town. A simple majority of the combined votes cast in the three towns is needed to pass the budget.
Absentee ballots are available. For further information, contact Town Clerk Shannon Plourde at 353-2561, extension 11.
