Dear Sun Spots: June 13 marked the sixth anniversary of my dad’s heart transplant. To honor both my father and the donor who made this all possible, I am holding a fundraiser and huge raffle.
All the proceeds from the fundraiser go directly to the United Network for Organ Sharing. UNOS works in part to educate the public about organ donation and strives to create a greater willingness to donate.
My dad was one of the lucky ones, as he received a new heart after 98 days in the hospital. But so many others are not as lucky.
By donating to my fundraiser you will not only help me to reach my goal, but also be entered to win one (or more) of 25 prize packages being raffled off, starting Aug. 3.
The prizes are amazing: Red Sox tickets, Sea Dogs tickets, gorgeous jewelry, $200 in steaks, lobster feast for two mailed anywhere in the United States, artwork, $600 in camping equipment and more!
Please consider donating. Even $1 makes a difference. Visit www.firstgiving.com/hallietwomey. Thank you. — Hallie Twomey, Auburn.
Dear Sun Spots: I have lots of puzzles to give away. They are all 1,000 pieces. Will give five per person. Call 784-6710. — No Name, No Town.
Dear Sun Spots: Ever since I’ve come home from Florida on April 29 I have missed the TV Preview in the Saturday morning paper. Is there a chance it will ever be included in Saturday’s paper? I’m sure I’m not the only one missing it. Thank you. — L.M., Wilton.
