Gerald R. Hammond

1941 – 2009

FARMINGTON — Gerald “Jerry” R. Hammond, 67, of Wilton, died early Saturday afternoon, June 27, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

He was born in Farmington on Dec. 6, 1941, a son of Randall and Frances (Barrett) Hammond. He received his education in Wilton schools and was a graduate of Wilton Academy.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam Era from 1963 to 1967.

On June 22, 1969, he married Mary Salisbury.

Jerry was employed for many years at Brookside Filling Station in Wilton and later at Farmington Oil Co./Webber Energy as an oil delivery driver. He also owned and operated Jerry’s Tire in Wilton.

He was a member of the Wilton Lions Club, the Farmington Elks Club and the Wilton Masonic Lodge No. 156. He enjoyed reading, camping and working at pulling events at Farmington and Fryeburg Fairs.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary, of Wilton; a sister, Anne Kezal and her husband, Mike, of Turner; and two nephews, Kevin Kezal of Saco and Mark Kezal of Sebago.
