PORTLAND (AP) — Civil and criminal assault charges against University of Maine goalie Dave Wilson have been dismissed.
The Portland Press Herald said Wilson’s attorney was notified Monday of the dismissals and the Bangor District Court confirmed that both cases had been dismissed Thursday.
The 24-year-old Wilson was arrested and charged with domestic assault after an alleged confrontration with an ex-girlfriend. Wilson, who denied the charges, was accused of grabbing the alleged victim by the neck and tugging her when she tried to walk away from an off-campus bar in Orono on April 2.
A junior from Ontario, Wilson played in 14 games last season, recording 338 saves and posting a goals-against average of 2.82.
