LITCHFIELD – Josh Martin, Ben Dyer and Ryan Stevens had two hits each and Parker Asselin ripped a double and two singles to propel Sabattus to a 17-4 win over Leeds in Apple Valley Babe Ruth baseball.
Asselin spun a mercy rule-shortened complete game with seven strikeouts.
Donnie Vannah reached base five times. Kyle Ridley and Garrett Labbe got aboard three times apiece.
Jacob Gladu and Matt Lanford were repeat hitters for Leeds. Brandon Morrissette and Josh Bunker each contributed a single.
Winthrop 17, Leeds 16
WINTHROP – Jim Theriault belted a triple and double to help Winthrop outslug Leeds, 17-16, in Apple Valley Babe Ruth baseball.
Zach Glazier and Ryan Castonguay each chipped in a single and a double for Winthrop (9-4). Blake Burnham belted a double and a single for Leeds (3-7). Matt Lanfordand Josh Bunker both singled twice.
