Shaker Village events
NEW GLOUCESTER — The Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26, will offer the following programs on Saturday, July 11:
Two sessions will be offered for those interested in learning how to make through dovetails. Chris Becksvoort, master craftsman, will be the instructor. Special tools are required and materials will be supplied. The fee is $30; pre-registration is required.
Guided hikes through the fields, woods, lake and old mill stream will be offered. Cost is $5 for adults; special rates for children.
Intermediate woodcarvers are invited to learn how to carve a hobo in the round at a workshop to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fee is $35 and special tools are required.

Distribution day
AUBURN — Auburn AC Serve, part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will hold Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, 263 Turner St., Whitney Street entrance. Registrations for August also will be taken.

Breastfeeding
AUBURN — Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to the La
Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at 102
Bennett Ave. Babies are welcome.
Discussion will be on “Breastfeeding: Avoiding and Overcoming
Difficulties.” It will focus on concerns about preparing to nurse baby
at birth and adjusting to baby’s changing needs.
All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion. For
breastfeeding help or directions to the meeting, call the La Leche
League leader at 782-6645.

Bridge play
LEWISTON —
The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on June 29 were as follows: first overall, Nancy Lindgren and Marta Clements; second overall and first in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; third overall, Ron Reynolds and Lindy Wigton; fourth overall and second in B, Lue Bilodeau and Paul Sherman; fifth overall and third in B, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird.

A New England Sectional Tournament at Club will be played at 9 a.m. Monday, July 6. Winners will collect silver points.
