AUBURN — The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce breakfast program for July will feature Eva Giles, director of Lewiston Adult Education, who will discuss the importance of adult education in relation to work force readiness.

The breakfast will be held at the Lost Valley Ski and Banquet Resort
on Lost Valley Road in Auburn at 7:15 a.m. July 9. Call 783-2249 to reserve a spot. There is a nominal fee for attendance.
 
Giles received her bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s College and her master’s degree in adult education from USM’s College of Education and Human Development. While employed as the Workforce Education Coordinator in the Adult Education Department of the Windham School Department, she received the Outstanding Adult Education Teacher award granted by the Maine Adult Education Society.
This chamber breakfast is sponsored by the The Dempsey Challenge: A Journey For Hope, a bicycle tour and run/walk event scheduled for Oct. 4. The tour is designed to raise both cancer awareness and funds for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center.   
Chamber members in the spotlight this month are Central Maine Orthopaedics, Designs by Skip, Investment Concepts — Shawn Wright, Nationwide Payment Solutions, Outsource Works and WorkMed Occupational Health Services.
