BATH – Kelsey Campbell of Litchfield, daughter of Erica Campbell, received the MIP award in Women’s Crew during her junior year at the independent, character-based Hyde School in Bath.

Head of School Don MacMillan said of the recent athletic award winners, “Whether playing for a championship or learning a brand new sport, Hyde’s young athletes are tested daily on their work ethic, stamina, and ability to work together as a team. These individuals are among the finest examples of athletic character at Hyde School.”

The Hyde School approach to character-based, college-preparatory education has been developed since 1966 at the Hyde boarding campuses in Bath and Woodstock, Conn. and through public school initiatives in New Haven, Conn., Washington, D.C., and Bronx, N.Y. The organization, based in Bath, also includes national parenting workshops and wilderness experiences. College preparation through Hyde Schools is rigorous, with students taking primary responsibility for their learning. More than 96 percent of Hyde’s graduates are accepted at four-year colleges.
