Ralph E. McInnis Jr..
1956 – 2009

BRUNSWICK — Ralph E. McInnis Jr., 52, of Post Road, Bowdoinham, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 30.

He was born in Bath, on Aug. 17, 1956, the son of Ralph E. Sr. and Betty Whitford McInnis. He attended local schools and graduated from Morse High School, Class of 1974. After graduation, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Marine Corps on active duty from 1974 to 1981, then in reserves until retiring in 1994. During Desert Storm, he was activated and served for nine months.

On Feb. 21, 1976, he married Carol Millay at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bath.

He worked for 27 years at Bath Iron Works as a materials manager. In his spare time, he loved playing golf, playing cards, traveling, games and horse shoes, his family commented that he had a very competitive spirit. He was an avid New York Yankees fan, enjoyed listening to the oldies and could give names and artists to most songs. His greatest love was being surrounded by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years; his mother of Bath; a son, Brian K. and his wife, Mary McInnis, of New York; a daughter, Rebecca L. McInnis of Bowdoinham; two grandchildren, Fiona and Patrick McInnis of New York; two brothers, Jeff and his wife, Kimberly McInnis, of Virginia, and Patrick and his wife, Lisa McInnis, of Brunswick; seven sisters, Betsey and her husband, Doug Munsey, of Winthrop, Kathy and her husband, Peter DeCouracy, of Topsham, Gloria McInnis and Ron Henry of Saco, Nancy and her husband, Paul Stover, of Wiscasset, Anita and her husband, Tim Soule, of Wiscasset, Mary and her husband, Jim McLean, of Bath and Christine and her husband, Doug Morse, of Freeport; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father.
