Bridge play
LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club held its quarterly Club Championship Game on July 1 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; second, Roger Labbe and Larry Fortier; third, Ron and Connie Reynolds; fourth, Paul Sherman and Lucille Theriault. Flight B winners were: first, Roger Labbe and Larry Fortier; second, Claire Lyons and Marta Clements. Flight C winners were Roger Labbe and Larry Fortier. Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at the center.
The club also met on July 2 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: tied at first, Mike and Pat Quinn with John Hackett and Sherry Hinckley; third, Luke Merry and Lucille Theriault. Another game will be played on Wednesday, July 9, at Schooner.

Grant awarded
ELLSWORTH — Maine Community Foundation and Common Good Ventures have
selected College for ME-Androscoggin as a new partner in their
Nonprofit Effectiveness Program.
Focused on increasing access to higher and post-secondary education in
Central Maine, College for ME-Androscoggin will receive grant funding
from the foundation and dedicated management coaching from CGV, with
potential support for up to three years.
College for ME-Androscoggin is a network of more than 30 business,
education, community and government groups dedicated to doubling by the
year 2015 the number of residents in Androscoggin County who hold
college degrees.
