NORWAY — The annual used book sale sponsored by the Friends of Norway Memorial Library will be held the day of the Norway Arts Festival in the Norway Grange Hall on Whitman Street.
The giant book sale will open to the public from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 10, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 11. The sale will offer books on a wide range of topics, as well as fiction in paperback and hard cover, and lots of children’s books.
Prices will range from 25 cents for the yard sale items outside the Grange Hall (weather permitting), to 50 cents for paperbacks and individual pricing of hard covers inside.
There will also be a range of specially priced books from $2 up.
The Friends will also sell raffle tickets for a handmade blueberry basket containing a variety of items, all with a blueberry theme. The basket will include blueberry mixes and recipe cards for scones and muffins, blueberry fabric trivets, blueberry-decorated ceramic letterholder and flower pots, blueberry notecards and blueberry stoneware muffin cups.
Raffle tickets cost $2 or three for $5. The basket will be on display at the library before the book sale, and tickets can also be purchased at the library until the day of the drawing on Aug. 18.
Anyone interested in volunteering to help on the event should call Ann at the library at 743-5309. Helpers are needed for sorting the books starting July 7 and throughout the rest of the week. Volunteers are also needed to help during the sale.
There is a sign-up sheet on the kiosk in the library, and those who volunteer at least four hours are invited to select and purchase books at a presale event.
