Joseph R. Dumais

1934 – 2009

LISBON — Joseph R. Dumais, 75, of 64 Lisbon St., Lisbon died Monday, July 6, at the Lamp Alzheimer’s Residential Care after a long illness.
He was born in Auburn, March 11, 1934, the son of Romeo and Marie Louise (Plante) Dumais and had been a resident of this community all of his life.
He was employed as a custodian at Pioneer Plastic for many years until his retirement in 1996.
He was a parishioner of Holy Family Church.
He enjoyed playing the piano and singing, going out to eat, and loved the ocean. He loved his siblings, especially Pauline, whom he lived with a couple of years before going to the Lamp.
He is survived by three brothers, Rudolphe “Rudy” Dumais and his wife, Ann, of Lewiston, Adrien Dumais and his wife, Diane, of Oxford and Richard Dumais and his wife, Nancy, of Sabattus; three sisters, Mary Jane Rubino of Lewiston, Cecile Siewert and her husband, Raymond, of Apple Valley, Calif., and Pauline Dumais of Sabattus; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Lamp Alzheimer’s Residential Care for the excellent care they have given to Joseph throughout his illness.
