The Pleasant Note Coffeehouse will dedicate July’s open mic/poetry slam to Dick Secord, who recently passed away. The 80-year old Secord, photographed above at an open mic last fall, had become a regular at the show. He enjoyed sharing his passion for music with younger generations, offering such cowboy classics as "Cattle Call." The free monthly show is a forum for musicians, poets, belly-dancers, trick dogs and singers of all ages. The show will begin at 7:15 p.m. Friday, July 10, at the First Universalist Church of Auburn, 169 Pleasant St. For more information, call 783-0461 or go online to [email protected].
