LIVERMORE — Selectmen approved a 3½ hour road closing to help with traffic from the Heroes of Woodstock concert scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 9, at Barnyard All Terrain park.
About a one mile stretch of River Road, from the intersection of Strickland Ferry Road to Route 108, will be closed to through traffic from 9 p.m. Aug. 9 until 12:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, board administrative assistant Kurt Schaub said.
Organizers are using a field at the end of River Road to park vehicles once the parking area at the Barnyard is full.
The idea is to have vehicles leave the parking area and head back onto Route 108 when the concert is over, rather than send the traffic north on River Road.
Residents who live in the area that will be closed off will still be able to get to their residences.
