NORWAY — A 50th anniversary ceremony and celebration for Art and Alice Turner of Norway was held Saturday, June 13, at Winslow Park in Freeport. Mrs. Turner’s 92-year-old mother, Avis Greene of Norway, also attended.
A catered lobster bake was held and Jeffrey Herbster of Brunswick performed on the bagpipes. Party hosts were the children and spouses of the couple, Alden and Luanne Turner, Woofie and Diantha Turner, Alison Wickson, and Andrew and Corrine Turner.
The anniversary cake was made by Corrine Turner, and the tables had postcard tents with original wedding day pictures and the wedding party.
Mr. Turner and the former Alice Greene were married June 13, 1959, at the Congregational Church in East Granby, Conn. In addition to their children, their grandchildren are Megan, Hillary, Ethan, Andrea, Fallon, Harrison, Summer, Echo, Meagan, Drewan, Mandy, Gabrielle and Griffin. They also have a great-granddaughter, Emily.
