Eleanor Ella Armstrong
1925 – 2009
SOUTH CAROLINA — Eleanor Ella Armstrong, 83, died June 15, from complications of Alzheimer’s.
She was born July 23, 1925, in Dixfield, the daughter of the late Guy Armstrong and Mary Wood Hall Armstrong. She was the oldest of four children.
She received her nursing degree at McLean Hospital School of Nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital. She began her R.N. career in St. Petersburg, Fla., where she retired after 51 years of nursing.
She was an avid golfer, rock hound, and loved traveling around the country in her motor home. She was a devout Christian and was a founding member of Northside Baptist Church, St. Petersburg, Fla.
Survivors include two nieces; and three nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, John; sisters, Nora Roberts and Reta Armstrong; and friend and companion, Priscilla Huntley.
