I would like to ask the five members of the Lewiston City Council who voted to terminate Jim Bennett as the city administrator. What were they thinking?

What they did on the evening of July 14 is disrupt the city’s stability and functioning at a time of economic and government uncertainty. I sincerely believe that had to be one of the council’s most arrogant and dim-witted motions since they took office. I am thoroughly appalled by their actions and I am alarmed that their leadership is problematic.

Oh, yes, they should keep up their priority with the dog parks and chicken ordinance in the spotlight after firing the city administrator, that is what all city taxpayers want the council to focus on.
