HARRISON — The Andy Valley East 12-under baseball team captured their third consecutive Cal Ripken state title on July 16. The team won the crown as 10 year olds in 2007, as 11 year olds in 2008 and is now the 12-year-old state champions. Andy Valley East is comprised of all-stars from Mechanic Falls, Minot, Poland & Otisfield.

This year’s title run started by winning four games in the districts, beating Saco Valley in the district title game. Eight teams advanced to the state tournament. Andy Valley East beat Winthrop 7-2 in the state championship game. AV East went 8-0 through the districts and the state tournaments to earn their third state title in a row.

Andy Valley East advances to the regional Cal Ripken tournament in Marlborough, Mass., from Aug. 1-6. They regional champion advances to the Cal Ripken World Series tournament in Winchester, Mass., starting Aug, 13.

The Andy Valley team was represented by: Billy Bickford, Alex Biron, Kaleb Bridgham, Ethan Cailler, Riley Chickering, Corey Cunliffe, Willy Kannegieser, Tanner Marston, Adam Mocciola, Shawn Murphy, Nick Attaliades Ryan and Jake Simard. Coaches were Bill Bickford, Jim Marston and Bob Mocciola.
