AUBURN — Robin Dow Senior Citizens will hold the annual cook in/out on Wednesday, July 22, at the American Legion, 426 Washington St. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and coffee and doughnuts will be served in the morning. Members are reminded to bring their own cups.
Chances will be sold on “a bucket of money.” The day will be spent casually, with card playing (members bring their own cards and/or other games to play). Lunch will be served at noon, with Lucien Marcoux as head chef, and a volunteer crew. Bonus bingo will be played in the afternoon. Members are requested to arrive early.
When the group met July 8 under the direction of President Virginia Houston, 40 members were present, and Phyllis Dunne of Wilton and Jean Noyes of Auburn were welcomed as new members. Ruth Jucuis was a guest.
Trip Chairwoman Evelyn Sawin gave a report of the Friday, July 31, trip to Foster’s Lobster House in York; the $50 includes bus fare, dinner, bingo on the bus, and a stop at Hodgman’s ice cream stand in New Gloucester upon return. The bus will leave the American Legion at 9 a.m. There are a few seats still available, and if interested phone Sawin at 998-4577.

July birthdays were acknowledged. Attendance prize winners were Hope Telow and Pam Carrier; pot of gold, George Herrick and Marge Gardener; mystery prize, Lee Koss, Phil Cyr and Joan Webb.
At the conclusion of the meeting, acting chaplain Shirley Hawkins gave the blessing, members sang “God Bless America,” and following lunch members played bingo.
