Yard sale

OXFORD — His Place Teen Center will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 5 to 12 on Route 26, next to the fish market. The Alpha and Omega Thrift Shop, 39 Brown St., Norway will have a sale at the same time from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Anyone who has items to donate should contact Bert Rugg at cell 515-3000 or home/office at 743-9503. Proceeds benefit His Place Teen Center, reaching boys and girls age 11 to 18 in the Oxford Hills area. 

GOP to meet

WATERFORD — The Oxford County Republican Committee will meet
Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the North Waterford Congregational Church, Route
35, Waterford Village. A social hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. will be
followed by dinner and a guest speaker, Les Otten, 2010 gubernatorial
candidate.

Board to meet

NORWAY — Community Concepts Inc. board of directors will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the town office, 19 Danforth St. The public is welcome. For more information, call 739-6564.

Library programs

WOODSTOCK — Two programs will be offered at the Whitman Memorial Library from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 17, 18 and 19.

Dawn Davis will lead grades kindergarten, one and two in stories, writing and art projects.

Sonja Davis will lead students in grades three to five featuring Dean Bennett’s stories about Maine animals and their environment. There will be related activities and light refreshments.Call the library at 665-2505 to sign up if possible.

Bridge results

NORWAY — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met July 28 at the Fare Share Building, Main Street, when a 7seven-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in flight A N/S were Paul Kahl and Nick Karamessinis; second, Kim Gilman and Robin Hillyard; third, Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements; E/W, first, Penny and Bob Thomas, who also were first in flight B; second, Hazel Glazier and Priscilla Rooth, also were second in flight B and first in flight C. Finishing first N/S  in flight B and C were Cindy and Bob Kirchherr; second, Sue Farnum and Elaine Dresser. In flight B E/W, third, Kathy Feld and Carol Curran, also second in flight C.

There will be another game at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7 and all bridge players are invited, A partner is guaranteed; parking is in the rear.
