Book sale
WILTON — The Wilton Free Public Library will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Nichols Expo, Weld Street.
Society meeting
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Historical Society will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, due to a public hearing. A business meeting and educational session will follow at 6 p.m. at the Henderson Baptist Church, Academy Street. For more information, call 778-4275.
Library meeting
LIVERMORE — The Livermore Public Library will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the library at 22 Church St. The public is invited to attend.
Church anniversary
WELD — The Weld Congregational Church will hold its 200th
anniversary celebration during an historical program at 7 p.m. Friday,
Aug. 14, at the Weld Town Hall.
A celebration dinner will be held
at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the church with a concert to follow

A special worship service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at the church.
Block party
LIVERMORE FALLS — An old-fashioned block party will be held from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Livermore Falls Nazarene
Church, 6 Wheeler St. There will be live music from noon to 1.
There
will also be all kinds of old-fashioned games to play like sack races,
three-legged race, water balloon toss, ring toss and tug-of-war. The
church will also serve lunch.
The church also has a new intern pastor, Dakota Baker, and it would be
a great time to meet him and to see what is going on at the church.
The event is free to the public.
Garden club
FARMINGTON — Pat Stillman will host the Mt. Blue Area Garden Club at her home on 135 Marwick Road at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18. Members are asked to bring a lawn chair, a plant to swap and a bag lunch. Desserts will be provided by hostesses Karen Clary, Marcia Boles and Myrna Vallette.
Stillman will give a tour of her garden, followed by a club meeting. Guests are welcome. For more information, call 645-2067.
