Recently, I attended a free concert at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. The half-hour concert by violist Linda Vaillancourt, accompanied by the basilica’s organist and music director Scott Vaillancourt, was simply outstanding from any viewpoint. The selections were exceptionally well chosen, both for their melodic/stylistic interest and for their openness to an appreciative audience.

Both musicians rendered selections that were clean, warm and artistic. I doubt that anyone could find a better deal in the area for a time filled with beauty or a better venue, the Basilica, for appreciating that art.
