Edward Paul Foster
1938 – 2009
KENNEBUNK — Edward Paul Foster, 70, of Auburn, passed away on Aug. 13, at the RiverRidge Center.
He was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Eastport, the son of Ruel and Cecilia (Duncan) of Howland. He was a graduate of Howland High School, Class of 1956, and Husson College, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in 1960.
After teaching for a couple of years, he pursued a few different careers and retired from the United States Post Office in Portland in 2002. He was the adventurous one of the family and loved to travel to distant places.
He is survived by his brother, James Robert and his wife, Valerie, of Howland; three nephews, James and his wife, Julie, Scott and his wife, Mary-Ann and Mike and his wife, Susan, all of Howland; grandnephews, Marshall and Wyatt; grandnieces, Jessica, Kacy, Aimee, and Kati; one great-grandniece, Kaelyn; an aunt, Sadie Duncan; and many cousins.
He will be remembered fondly by many good friends and his best friend of 44 years, Jim Kidder of Honolulu.
The family would like to give a special thank-you to the doctors, nursing staff, and therapists at RiverRidge Center in Kennebunk, Maine Medical Center in Portland and St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston for the excellent care he was given and to his good friend and care-giver, Roland Danico.
