Online shopping site of the week: Think Geek (www.thinkgeek.com).
Once upon a time, interest in science or computers was enough to get you stuffed in a locker.
But with the emergence of the Internet, being a geek has gained a certain amount of cache. Celebrities like Ashton Kutcher spend countless hours online, tweeting up a storm. Geeky is gorgeous.
Think Geek can help outfit your nerdy lifestyle. The site offers all manners of geeky goods, from a baseball cap that detects wireless Internet signals to a plush zombie that you can rip apart and put back together. And so you can stay up all night to enjoy your new toys: caffeinated shower gel.
The products span a number of categories, including zombies, retro gaming consoles, Linux, USB goodies and iPod accessories.
Some of the stuff is even _ gasp _ useful. For example, Think Geek sells a cell phone signal extender that boosts reception in low signal areas. Still, it’s the more off-the-wall items that stand out. Where else could you find a T-shirt that doubles as a playable electronic drum kit?
