AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) – Sen. Susan Collins of Maine is part of a congressional delegation that’s visiting the Middle East.

Collins, a Republican member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is accompanied by Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz.; Joseph Lieberman, D-Conn., and Lindsey Graham, R-N.C.

Collins’ office said a detailed itinerary is not being released for security reasons. But it said the delegation was in Iraq on Friday, where the senators met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. They also met U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Christopher Hill and Gen. Raymond Odierno.

The delegation members also visited Libya where they met with Col. Muammar al-Gadaffi before traveling to Kuwait.
