TURNER — The Nezinscot Guild, a nonprofit social purpose enterprise, recently received a $2,500 grant from the Rural Grants Fund of the Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF) to support its new Web Design and Internet Marketing Program (www.thenezinscotguild.com).
The Nezinscot Guild’s Web presence has evolved from a “billboard” style of Web site, to an interactive retail site offering Maine-made products manufactured at their plant in Turner. The grant will assist in creating awareness of the Nezinscot Guild’s mission as well as expanding its customer base, wholesale and retail.
“This grant will enable us to initiate new e-mail campaigns for fundraising and advertising on the Internet,” said Kevin Ellingwood, guild Internet marketing manager. “We have many great ideas for increasing our exposure on the Internet; this grant gives us the means to implement our ideas, as well as increase awareness of our mission. It also will make it easier for all of our customers, new and existing, to do business with us online.”
“Providing employment to people with developmental disabilities or brain injuries, in a dynamic small business,” has been the Nezinscot Guild’s mission for more than 30 years.
For 25 years the Maine Community Foundation has been partnering with donors and community groups to strengthen Maine through grants and scholarships. For more information, visit www.mainecf.org or call toll-free 1-877-700-6800.
