ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — “Everyday Eddie” won’t be pitching for a while.

The Texas Rangers put left-handed reliever Eddie Guardado on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday because of an inflamed left knee. The move was retroactive to Saturday.

The Rangers called up right-hander Willie Eyre from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The 38-year-old Guardado is 1-2 with a 4.32 ERA, 17 strikeouts and 12 walks in 42 relief appearances this season.

Eyre is 0-0 with one save and a 2.45 ERA in 17 appearances, including two starts, at Oklahoma City. He spent most of the first half of the season on the disabled list with a strained right groin.
