August marks the beginning of the fifth year of operation for the St. Martin’s Bargain Basket in Lewiston.
Tucked in the basement of St. Martin do Porres Residence for homeless
men and women on the corner College and Bartlett streets,the Bargain Basket is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and run by a staff of unpaid volunteers
. They offer a variety of household items, linens of all kinds,
jewelry, antiques, religious articles, furniture and a variety of other
merchandise. Donations are accepted during business hours and they are
in need of good used furniture. All the profits earned from the sale of
the donated items goes back to the residence. For more information,
