Daniel A. Hersom has been promoted to the rank of staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

The sergeant, a maintenance production management with four years of military service, is assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing, Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.

He is the son of Donald Hersom of Lewiston and the grandson of Clive and Carol Johnson of Chester, S.C. His wife, Katie, is the daughter of retired Chief Master Sgt. Tim and Lisa Toman of Navarre, Fla. Hersom is a 2003 graduate of Great Falls High School, S.C.
