HARTFORD — The Gammon-Davis-Richmond annual reunion will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at the camp of Roger Gammon on Gurney Hill Road. A potluck lunch will be served and activities will be the same as last year.

Society speaker

HEBRON — The Hebron Historical Society held its annual potluck picnic at the Greenwood Mountain Inn on July 28. Wilma Irish from the Norlands Living History Center in Livermore appeared as Mercy Lovejoy, a woman on a poor farm in the 1800s.

Charles Tobie of Hebron will be the speaker at the society’s Tuesday, Aug. 25, meeting. Tobie will speak on his relative, Lt. Edward P. Tobie, a Civil War regimental historian and author of “History of the First Maine Cavalry.” Tobie recently obtained his relative’s personal copy of a book of articles he had written during the war.

The meeting and program will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hebron Town Office. The public is invited.
