Society supper

GREENWOOD — The Greenwood Historical Society will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 2, with a potluck supper at 6 p.m. at the historical building, Main Street. Those attending are asked to bring something to share to eat and their utensils. Everyone is welcome. Members will plan the next yard sale for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 12.

No vet visit

PARIS — The veterans’ advocate will not be at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The next visit will be 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 2. 

 
Daughters visit

PARIS — A group from the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War
1861-1865, attending the national convention in South Portland, visited
Paris Hill on Aug. 9.

While there, they placed flowers on the Hannibal Hamlin monument,
visited the library and were served lunch by the women of the First
Baptist Church of Paris. They were accompanied by National President
Judy Frohm.
