ANDOVER — The 58th annual flower show will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Historical Society Building.
Entries will be received between 5:30 and 8 p.m. Friday, July 31. Doors will be closed during judging and will open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Entries should be picked up between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Awards will be given for first, second, third and honorable mention, best of show and judge’s award.
Professional florists are invited to enter in categories 10, 11 and 12. The entries are not eligible for the best of show award.
The categories are:
1: 100-year-old town hall clock, arrangement of choice.
2: plays and shows on the town hall stage, using wooden container.
3: horse and buggy to automobiles, wildflowers.
4: meeting at the snowmobiler’s shack, herbs and grasses.
5: riding the snowmobile trails, all white flowers.
6: basketball games in the town hall, arrangement in round basket.
7: recreation at Grimaldi Field, ages 12 and younger.
8: alumni banquets, mug or cup and saucer.
9: summertime – then and now, remembering someone special.
10: swimming in the Ellis River, single specimens (bottles provided).
11: letter writing – long hand to e-mail, houseplants.
12: times – then and now – professionals.
