PARIS — Market Square Health Care Resident Phemie Russell was honored by staff on July 21 on her 100th birthday. Staff made 100 cupcakes to share with Russell and staff.
Russell, of Norway, has been a resident of the residential care unit of Market Square since February of this year.
Market Square Activities Director Lynne Wheeler said one of her staff members was talking with Russell about her upcoming birthday and she had made a remark about having a cupcake for every yeary. The employee, Vicki Merrill, began thinking about it and to celebrate the birthday, she and fellow employees, Wheeler, Barbara Townsend, Karole-Ann Keniston, Tovah and Aaron Callina, made cupcakes to surprise Russell.
Russell said, “This made my day, my night, tonight, and my day tomorrow, too.”
