Rumford police officers responded to 70 complaints between 6 a.m. Aug. 23 and 6 a.m. Aug. 30.

Arrest/summonses

Aug. 23 at 1:39 a.m.: 16-year-old male from Mexico was summoned by Patrolman Lawrence Winson on Hosmer Lane on a charge of illegal possession of alcohol by a juvenile. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 3.

Aug. 23 at 3:33 p.m.: Aaron Brasuell, 32, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Scott Mills on Cumberland Street on charges of assault and violating conditions of release. Brasuell wasn’t permitted to post bail. He was taken to the Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Oct. 6.

Aug. 26 at 8:15 p.m.: Derick Harnden, 18, of Rumford was summoned by Sgt. F. David Bean on Washington Street on a charge of illegal possession of a usable amount of marijuana. Harnden is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Oct. 6.

Aug. 27 at 3:36 a.m.: Steven Malloy, 28, of Wells was arrested by Patrolman Lawrence Winson on Canal Street on a warrant charging unpaid fines for disorderly conduct. Malloy was unable to post bail and taken to the Oxford County Jail. He court date is unknown.

Aug. 27 at 11:15 p.m.: Richard “Red” Downs, 58, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Lawrence Winson on a charge of disorderly conduct. Downs was unable to post bail and taken to the Oxford County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Oct. 6.

Aug. 28 at 1 a.m.: Theodore Aubut, 20, of Rumford was arrested by Sgt. F. David Bean on Pine Street on a charge of  domestic assault. Aubut posted $300 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Oct. 6.

Aug. 28 at 2:05 a.m.: Timothy Tuttle, 20, of Rumford was arrested on Lochness Road and charged by Sgt. F. David Bean with burglary and assault. Tuttle posted $800 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in South Paris Superior Court on Dec. 17.

Aug. 29 at 1:15 a.m.: Matthew McPherson, 18, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Michael Belanger on Isthmus Road for Criminal Trespass. McPherson posted unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on October 6th.

On 8/30 – 1:40 AM, Scott Knowlton, 42, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Michael Belanger on Rumford Avenue on a charge of operating under the influence. Knowlton posted $400 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 3.

Burglary

Aug. 24 at 2:07 p.m.: Beliveau Road resident reported his residence was broken into and approximately $2,000 in property stolen and more than a $1,000 damage. The incident is under investigation.

Aug. 24 at 8:18 p.m.: York Street resident reported someone entered his unlocked basement, but nothing was stolen. The case is under investigation.

On 8/25 – 10:50 AM, Pine Street resident reporting someone forcibly entered their locked residence, but nothing was stolen. Case is under investigation.

Criminal mischief:

Aug. 24 at 10:38 a.m.: Rumford business reported someone damaged the CMP meter. Case is under investigation.

Aug. 27 at 10:04 a.m.: Rumford code enforcement officer reported someone has been removing posted signs off buildings. Case is under investigation.

Theft

Aug. 30 at 4:37 a.m.: Falmouth Street resident reported theft of medication. Case is under investigation.

Wanted
