RUMFORD — Rumford seniors citizens will go on a whale watching trip on Wednesday, Aug. 19, leaving from the center at 9 a.m. for Rye, N.H., for an outing aboard a fishing fleet ship. Members will stop at Captain Newick’s for dinner on the way home. The cost is $60.
Members will go to Vermont on Wednesday, Sept. 9, taking a tour of a coffee factory at noon. At 2 p.m. they will tour the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory, stopping for dinner on the way home. Cost is $45. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. On Thursday, Sept. 17, the seniors will go to Hollywood Slots in Bangor at a cost of $25. The bus will leave at 8 a.m.
A trip to the Fryeburg Fair will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6. Cost of $10 will be returned to members on boarding. A mystery trip will take place Wednesday, Oct. 7. A dinner, bus ride and surprise are included in the $60 price. The bus will leave at 9 a.m.
On Thursday, Nov,19, members will take their final Hollywood Slots trip until spring. The bus will leave at 8 a.m.; cost is $25. A Christmas party will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Members will meet at noon Wednesday, July 22. They should bring a dish to share. The board will meet at 10:30.
SenoirsPlus will be at the center on Tuesday, Aug. 18, to help with tax and rent rebates. There will also be information on a variety of other services offered.
